This antique Victorian Civil War era paisley wool hoop skirt morning wrapper gown dress dates from the 1860s. It is made of autumn fall shades of brown, orange, red, blue and cream color fine woven wool paisley print pattern fabric. This wonderful wrapper morning gown dress has a long floor length full hoop skirt (hoop not included underneath), with black velvet piping trim accents on the sleeve cuffs, front faux pocket sides, back skirt drape, with newly replaced faceted plastic black button closures all the way down the front and is lined in a brown cotton fabric inside the top, skirt hemline. The dress measures 56 inches long, with a 36 inch bust, 28 inch waist, 21 inch long sleeves and a 16 inch back. It is in fair as-is condition, missing the original buttons, has a small patched repair on the front top, some fraying around the neckline and several small frays in the fabric on the shoulder, back skirt, side pocket and underarm (see close-ups). This is truly a wonderful piece of antique Victoriana textile art! |
