This vintage Japanese fuchsia pink silk chrysanthemum embroidered kimono robe dates from the 1920s. It is made of a bright pink fuchsia vivid purplish red color fine silk fabric, with pastel silk raised padded satin stitch hand embroidered spider chrysanthemum flowers, French knot stamens and vine leaf designs. This pretty pink Japanese kimono robe has an open front with a matching embroidered fabric belt with fringe trim ends for closure, a rolled padded cotton white silk covered hem, full kimono sleeves with woven knotted tassel fringe sides and is fully lined in a white fine tissue silk fabric inside. The kimono measures 53 inches long, with 21 inch long kimono sleeves, a 50 inch chest, 50 inch waist and the sash belt is 78 inches long, 8 inches wide. It is in good condition, with only some slight fraying of the silk on the rolled hem bottom skirt (see close-up). This is truly a wonderful piece of wearable Japanese Japonism wearable textile art!
