This vintage ecru linen sailor shawl collar womens duster driving motoring coat dates from the 1920s. It is made of an ecru cream color heavy quality linen fabric, with quilted appliqué trim accents on the sleeve cuffs, collar, lapel and sides. This wonderful women's duster motoring coat is a long floor length, with a wide lapel shawl sailor style collar, long sleeves with rolled cuffs, 2 large celluloid buttons on the side front for closure and is unlined. The coat measures 50 inches long, with a 38 inch bust, 34 inch waist, 14 inch back and 25 inch long sleeves. This coat would have been worn to protect ones clothing from the dust and mud when traveling, riding and driving in a motor car. It is in good condition, with only a small woven mended repair on the back skirt which is difficult to see. This is truly a wonderful piece of wearable womens outerwear textile art! |
