It is made of a sheer white filmy linen tape lace, with veined, raised threads flowers and leaves, joined by bobbin made braids, thread bars and has princess lace flowers appliquéd.

This exquisite antique battenburg princess tape lace shirt blouse top dates from 1905. It is made of a sheer white filmy linen tape lace, with veined, raised threads flowers and leaves, joined by bobbin made braids, thread bars and has princess lace flowers appliquéd. This lovely lace blouse has a pouter pigeon front, fitted peplum waistband coming to a point on the bottom front, a high neck band collar, gathered shoulders with long full puffy sleeves, tapered fitted cuffs, missing the back closures and is sheer, unlined. The top measures 20 inches long, with a 36 inch bust, 24 inch waist, 20 inch long sleeves and 14 inch neck. It is in good condition, but has not been cleaned, with a few faint tiny age spot stains and a small break in the lace at the shoulder (see close-up). This is truly an exceptional piece of antique lace wearable art!
