Victorian Brown Cotton Twill Dainty Half Boots Shoes. |
This pair of antique Victorian era brown cotton twill dainty half boots shoes date from the 1850s. They are hand stitched and made of a brown cotton twill fabric. These dainty ankle length half boot style high-lows shoes have the original side lacing closure, squared toes, straight leather bottom soles with no left or right distinction, low stacked wooden heels, with a black leather heel cap strip on the back for reinforcement and are lined in a white cotton twill fabric. The boots measure 9 1/2 inches long, 2 1/2 inches wide, with a 1 inch high heel. They have been gently worn, with some fraying along the back heel (see close-up). These are a rare and early find which are a museum deaccession.
