Victorian White Kid Leather Straight Sole Wedding Shoes Front view.

This pair of early Victorian era antique white kid leather straight sole wedding shoes date from the 1830s.  They are hand stitched and made of a white kid leather and lined in linen.  These early wedding ladies slipper shoes have squared toes, straight leather flat bottom soles with no left or right distinction and are missing the original ribbon lacing around the leg.  The shoes measure 9 1/2 inches long and 2 1/4 inches wide.  They have been gently worn, with only slight minor wear. These delicate wedding slippers were probably reserved for indoor wear, evening dress or special occasions. These are a rare and early find which are a museum deaccession.
