Art Nouveau Fiskhats Blue Yellow Ribbon Floral Hat. |
This antique Art Nouveau Fiskhats blue and yellow ribbon floral hat dates from 1919. It is made of a steel blue silk grosgrain ribbon and bright yellow felt wool layered creating a striped pattern design around the crown. There are colorful chenille and wool yarn flower trim sewn onto the front. This beautiful belle epoque hat has a slouched soft fabric crown and black velvet covered wired wide brim trimmed with the blue silk ribbon edging. It is fully lined in black silk, with a "Fiskhats Copyright 1919 Chicago D.B. Fisk & Co." label sewn inside. The hat measures 23 inches inside crown circumference. It is in good wearable condition, with only some slight wear to the velvet fabric nap under the brim.
