This antique Victorian Civil War era white silk ribbon lace net snood headdress dates from the 1860s. It is made of a wired frame covered with a delicate fine sheer brown net, with white silk ribbon and lace trim edging draping down the back. There is white net surrounding the face, with white silk ribbon ruching bow trim accents. This beautiful breakfast coiffure cap has a snood style and would have been worn indoors during the morning hours. The headdress cap measures 16 inches around the face opening. It is in as-is fair fragile condition, with several small holes in the net and a few frayed rips in the lace ribbon trim back.
