This antique Art Deco silver metallic lamé wired wide brim hat dates from the 1930s. It is made of a silver metal thread lamé fabric. This fabulous floppy hat has a large oversized wired wide brim, which is lined underneath with silver lamé fabric. The brim is hand stitched around the rim edging and could be worn turned up or down. It was custom made, perhaps for a theater production, movie, or showgirl burlesque performance. Inside the crown is fully lined. The hat measures 22 inches inside crown circumference, with a 5 inch wide brim and is 18 inches wide across. It is in good wearable condition, with some tarnish discoloration which has turned gold in areas and some fraying underneath the brim.
