This vintage Art Deco gold lamé sequin showgirl burlesque headdress dates from the 1940s. It is made of a gold metal thread lamé fabric, with colorful bright pink, green and gold hand sewn sequin accents. There is purple and orange silk fabric trim applique's done in stripes and circular target bullseye designs on the front. This outrageous Oriental Asian Art Deco influence inspired headdress costume has a large oversized squared cutout design, with an attached pink nylon cap underneath and chin strap for securing onto the head. The cap is fully lined, with the performers name "Kathy Broderick" hand written on tape inside. It was custom made, perhaps for a theater production, movie, or glitzy Vegas showgirl burlesque performance. The headdress measures 21 1/2 inches wide at the base, 17 1/2 inches wide at the top and 17 inches long. It is in good wearable condition, with some fraying of the gold lamé fabric (see close-up) a few missing sequins and some wear to the cap underneath. $100 |
