Victorian Forget Me Not Flower Black White Lace Brim Hat. |
This antique Victorian era forget me not flower black and white lace brim hat dates from 1890. It is made of a wired frame covered with black silk net lace on the top crown and an off white cream color net battenburg tape lace brim. There are blue silk forget me not flowers trimming around the crown and underneath the brim. This lovely lace ladies plate style hat has a flat wide brim which is slightly turned up. There is a small inside crown lined in silk which would have sat atop a full Gibson Girl style updo hairdo. The hat measures 40 inches outside circumference. It is in good wearable condition, with a few small holes in the white lace netting brim underneath.
