This vintage Lilly Dache floral silk turban hat dates from the 1960s. It is made of a pale grayish white platinum color silk fabric, with an array of colorful silk and velvet flowers creating a floral bouquet. This gorgeous garden party flowered turban style hat has layered pleated fabric swirling around it and a blue silk ribbon bow tied around it. There is a "Lilly Daché Paris New York" designer label inside. Lilly Dache was the most famous milliner in the United States and designed hats to glamorize American women. Known to be flamboyant and eccentric, her hats were popular with Hollywood actresses Marlene Dietrich, Joan Crawford, Carole Lombard, Greta Garbo and Ginger Rogers. The hat measures 21 inches inside circumference and is in excellent wearable condition.
