This antique Edwardian era natural straw pheasant feather boater hat dates from 1905. It is made of a tightly woven natural straw covered along the front with a variety of pheasant bird feathers, a birds wing on one side and two long striped tail feathers from the reeves pheasant bird atop. This sophisticated ladies boater style hat has a low large round crown, wide brim and would have sat atop a full Gibson Girl style updo hairdo. It is fully lined inside with a cotton fabric. The hat measures 24 inches inside crown circumference and 33 inches outside. It is in good wearable condition. Truly a quality made, dramatic, grand ladies hat. $250 |
