This unworn vintage Charles Kurzman Fifth Avenue purple velvet feather flapper cloche hat dates from the 1920s. It is made of a dark purple velvet fabric, with pleated draping and colorful purple plum pink ostrich feather plumes cascading down the back. This fabulous flapper cloche style hat has a small brim and tall deep crown. It is fully lined in white silk, with the "Kurzman Fifth Avenue Thirty-Sixth St. New York" label and "Charles Inc. Importer Formerly of Fifth Avenue" label, with original price tag attached of $49.50. Charles C. Kurzman was a noted high class New York milliner and well known dressmaker. The hat measures 22 1/2 inch inside crown circumference. It is in excellent unworn condition, which has never been worn. A rare find.
