This antique Titanic era belle epoque black velvet horse hair feather rhinestone trim wide brim hat dates from 1912. It is made of a wired frame covered with tightly woven black horse hair, a black velvet ribbon bow hatband, a black ostrich feather plume and rhinestone gold filigree buckle trim accent decorating the front. This beautiful belle epoque exaggerated grand hat has a wide brim, upturned on the side, backed and lined in black velvet, with a large round tall crown. The inside crown is fully lined in black silk and would have sat atop a full Gibson Girl style updo hairdo. The hat measures 22 inches inside crown circumference and 45 inches outside.
