Edwardian Antique Battenburg Duchesse Bobbin Lace Bridal Wedding Veil Headpiece
This Edwardian era antique battenburg Duchesse bobbin lace bridal wedding veil headpiece dates from 1915. It is hand made of an off white cream color battenburg Belgian Duchesse bobbin lace constructed of a fine filmy linen stitch tape lace, with connecting brides and bars done in a scrolling, spiraling, floral leaf pattern design. The lace is attached to a white silk wrapped wired base creating a tiara crown style, with wax orange blossom flowers trimming the sides and along the back. There is a long sheer delicate fragile fine cream color silk tulle net veil attached at the back. This beautiful bridal wedding headpiece veil measures 24 inches in circumference. The headpiece is in excellent wearable condition and the veil is in as-is fair condition. It is truly a beautiful one of a kind piece of hand made antique textile lace art!
