This antique Edwardian era belle epoque natural straw raffia wide brim ostrich feather hat dates from 1910. It is made of a wired brim frame covered with a natural straw raffia weave. There are large dark brown ostrich feather plumes cascading around the brim and a purple velvet ribbon hatband with flower trim. This beautiful belle epoque summer hat has an uneven wide brim which is wider in the front, narrow in the back and has a small inside crown which would have sat atop a full Gibson Girl style updo hairdo. The hat measures 50 inches in circumference on the outside, with a 16 inch inside crown circumference. It is in excellent wearable condition.
