This vintage Edwardian era brown velvet feather trim wide brim hat dates from 1918. It is made of a dark brown silk velvet fabric, with a wired uneven asymmetrical wide brim. There are large varying shades of cream, orange and brown ostrich feather plumes decorating along the top and side. The inside crown is fully lined in black silk. The hat is a large size measuring 23 inches inside crown circumference and 42 inches outside the brim. It is in good wearable condition, with some slight molting of the feather trim and some wear to the velvet nap along the brim edging. This is a wonderful piece of wearable art!
