This rare antique Victorian era women's brown wool bowler derby hat dates from 1880. It is made of a dark brown wool felt fabric, with brown grosgrain ribbed ribbon trim edging the brim and hatband. This dainty derby bowler style ladies riding hat has a small rounded crown and upturned brim. There is an elastic strap for securing under the chin, a leather sweatband and yellow silk lining with a silver embossed Native American Indian emblem logo label inside. The hat measures 20 inches inside crown circumference and has a size 6 1/4 paper tag inside. It is in good wearable condition, with only a faint dark spot stain on the back and some minor wear. This is a rare find and a true treasure!
