This vintage belle epoque black silk red poppy flower trim wide brim hat dates from 1920. It is made of a black silk satin fabric crown, with a sheer black silk chiffon covered wired brim frame. There is a large red silk poppy flower trim cascading down the side. This beautiful belle epoque early cloche style hat has a narrow back uneven wide brim and large tall crown which is fully lined in black cotton and has a "Ella V. Watson Bloomsburg, PA" label sewn inside. The hat measures 24 inches inside crown circumference and 47 inches outside. It is in good wearable condition, with some fraying holes along the chiffon brim. This is a wonderful piece of wearable millinery art!
