This antique Victorian era brown stripe silk ribbon straw woven wide brim women's boater hat dates from 1900. It is made of a brown straw woven basket weave design, brown velvet fabric and striped silk ribbon trimmings draped and gathered around the hat, with more ribbon decoration underneath the brim. This ladies boater style summertime hat has a wide upturned brim, a low round top crown, with a small bandeau crown underneath lined in black polished cotton inside. This quality made hat would have sat atop a full Gibson Girl style updo hairdo with long hatpin's. The hat measures 34 inches in circumference outside and 17 inches inside the crown. It is in excellent condition. This is truly a wonderful piece of wearable Victoriana millinery art! $200 |
