This antique Edwardian era woven black straw ostrich feather wide brim hat and hatpin's date from 1910. It is made of a woven black straw basket weave, trimmed with black ostrich feathers and a silk flower on the side. This pretty summer hat has a wide brim, slightly upturned on the back and lined underneath with a contrasting white straw. The inside crown has some remnants of white cotton lining. It would have sat perched atop a Gibson Girl style up do hairdo and comes with two long hatpin's with black beaded glass tops. The hat measures 23 inches inside crown circumference and 48 inches outside. It is in good condition, with some minor wear and slight soiling underneath. This is a wonderful piece of wearable millinery art!
