This antique Victorian era black and black violet flower lace trim straw bonnet hat dates from the 1880s. It is made of a woven black straw base, with black velvet ribbon bow trim and sheer black silk chiffon fabric ruffle gathers around the inside the front brim. There are black & white silk violet flowers and white lace with black outlining trim on top. This beautiful bonnet has black velvet ribbon ties for securing under the chin. It is fully lined with a black silk fabric and there is a "Mrs. E.W. Stockbridge Fine Millinery Hanover, MASS." label hidden inside. The bonnet measures 25 inches in circumference and 8 inches across. It is in good condition. This is truly a wonderful piece of wearable millinery art!
