This antique Edwardian Titanic era Belle Epoque woven natural straw silk flower wide brim hat dates from 1912. It is made of a decorative woven natural straw open basket weave design. There is a brown velvet ribbon hatband, with silk flower trim on both sides. This beautiful Belle Epoque summer straw hat has a large round wide brim and crown. It would have sat perched atop a Gibson Girl style up do hairdo. The original silk lining has been removed. The hat measures 25 inches inside crown circumference and is 55 inches outside the brim. It is in good condition, with some slight separation of the straw along the front crown. This is an extraordinary piece of wearable millinery art!
