This antique Victorian era black silk jet beaded trim Paris label mourning bonnet hat dates from the 1880s. It is made of a black silk fabric base, covered with a sheer black net and jet beading. There are black silk velvet floral ball trim and black silk grosgrain ribbon bow trim on top. This beautiful bonnet has black velvet ribbon ties for securing under the chin. It is fully lined with a black silk fabric and there is a Paris France French label inside (see close-up). The bonnet measures 13 inches around the face. It is in good condition, with some fraying of the net back, missing beading and some wear to the velvet nap around the edges. This is truly a wonderful piece of wearable millinery art!
