It is made of a white straw woven basket weave frame, with tiny hand sewn beads, a white buckram linen cloth lining the inside, green lace trim edging and pink silk flower accents on the side.

This antique Victorian Civil War era beaded woven white straw green lace, pink flower trim spoon bonnet dates from the 1860s. It is made of a white straw woven basket weave frame, with tiny hand sewn beads, a white buckram linen cloth lining the inside, green lace trim edging and pink silk flower accents on the side. This beautiful bonnet has a small crescent shape, with long curving sides which come to a point at the bottom, a high tall brim and brown silk ribbon ties for securing under the chin. The bonnet measures 17 inches in circumference around the front opening and is 6 inches deep. It is in good condition, with only some water spot stains and frayed splits on the silk ribbon ties. This is truly a rare early find and wonderful piece of wearable Victoriana millinery art!
