This antique Victorian era black woven horse hair straw pink floral wide brim hat and hatpin dates from 1890. It is made of a black woven horse hair style straw fabric, with black silk ribbon and pink silk flower trim. This pretty plate hat has a flat style, with a wide round brim, low round crown on top and black silk lining inside the crown. This quality made hat would have sat atop a full Gibson Girl style updo hairdo and secured with a large hat pin which is included with the hat pinned onto the back. The hat measures 21 inches inside crown circumference and 40 inches outside. It is in excellent condition. This is truly a wonderful piece of wearable Victoriana millinery art!
