This vintage Schiaparelli Paris yellow, orange silk woven natural straw raffia wide brim hat dates from 1954. It is made of a mustard yellow raw silk fabric crown, with a bright orange silk grosgrain ribbon hatband, bow trim side and woven basket weave natural straw, raffia brim. This sensational summer sun hat has a boater style with wide brim and fully lined soft fabric crown. There is a "Schiaparelli Paris" designer label sewn inside. Schiaparelli was strongly influenced by the modernist art of her day and her designs often have a whimsical, creative, outrageous, spectacular look. The hat measures 21 inches in circumference inside and a 3 1/2 inch wide brim. It is in excellent condition. This is truly a wonderful piece of wearable designer millinery art!
