This antique Victorian era cream tulle net lace blue silk chenille trim bed cap bonnet hat dates from 1890. It is made of a pale pastel blue silk fabric covered with layers of cream color lace and sheer tulle net fabric. There are pale blue silk chenille fringe trim on the front and hanging down the sides. It appears to be home made of a variety of lace pieces and trims patchwork put together and created into a cap. This beautiful bed cap womens bonnet hat is form fitting, with a pale blue pleated net ruffle trim edging along the bottom, a rhinestone encrusted rosette trim on the top, is lined in silk and is a museum deaccession piece with hand written numbered tag sewn inside. The cap measures 24 inches inside circumference. It is in good as-is condition with some fraying along the ruffle trim edging, inside silk lining and has some dingy dirty discoloration. This is truly a wonderful piece of home made millinery textile art!
