This vintage Harris Hat & Cloak Shop orange black velvet winged wide brim cloche dates from the 1920s. The hat is made of a orange and black velvet fabric, with contrasting velvet rosette gold metallic embroidered applique trim on the front crown. This amazing artist palette shaped wide brim hat has a slouched round crown, black velvet hatband, wired winged trim on the back and black velvet lining backing the brim underneath. It is fully lined with a black silk fabric and "Harris Hat & Cloak Shop Erie, PEN." label inside. The hat measures 14 inches across the brim and 22 inches inside crown circumference. It is in good condition, with only some small fraying on the winged end where the wire is poking through (see close-up). This is truly a wonderful piece of quality made wearable textile millinery art!
