Joseph Horne Co. Edwardian Black Silk Damask Shoes. |
This pair of Edwardian era Joseph Horne Co. black silk damask shoes date from 1910. They are made of a black silk damask satin weave fabric, with a floral striped pattern design. These lovely ladies shoes have a slip on style, with pointed toes, a flared tongue and a decorative button strap across the front instep vamps. They are stamped inside from the "Joseph Horne Co. Pittsburgh, PA." department store and still have the original price tag attached (see close-up). The shoes measure 9 1/2 inches long, 2 1/2 inches wide, with a 3 inch French Louis XV high heel. My guess on size would be about a 6 narrow width. They have been gently worn and are in good wearable condition, with only some minor scuffing on the front toes. |
