This pair of early Victorian era antique black wool crooked sole side lacing dainty ankle half boots date from the 1850s. They are hand stitched and made of a black fine wool fabric, with side lacing. These early ankle length dainty half boots have a slightly crooked hard leather bottom sole, squared toes and a low stacked wooden Louis XV French heel. They are lined in a ivory color linen fabric. The boots measure 9 1/2 inches long and 2 inches wide. They are in good condition, with only some tiny moth nip holes on the wool fabric and a small hole on the back heel (see close-up). These are a rare and early find! |
