This antique Victorian era blue turquoise silk embroidered Chinese Shanghai slipper shoes date from the late 19th century. They are hand stitched and made of a turquoise blue silk fabric, with colorful silk raised padded satin stitch, french knot hand embroidery work of floral designs. This pair of delicate dainty ladies slipper shoes are lined in a striped cotton ticking fabric, with white braided trim edging the tops, pointed toe, leather bottom soles and a slight small low heel. The shoes measures 8 inches long and 2 inches wide. They are a small size and resemble those worn by Chinese women with bound feet. The shoes appear to have never been worn and are in good condition. They are a wonderful one of a kind piece of Chinese textile art which would make for a wonderful display piece! $250 |
