This pair of Victorian era antique child's black wool straight sole dainty ankle half boots date from the 1850s. They are made of a black fine wool fabric, with brown elastic gathers gusset sides. These charming children's early high-low ankle length dainty half boots have a straight hard leather bottom sole, squared toes and a low stacked wooden cube heel. They are lined in linen. The boots measure 4 1/2 inches tall, 6 1/2 inches long and 2 inches wide. They are in good condition, with a few tiny moth nip holes on the wool fabric and a small fray on the side gusset. These are truly a rare and early find which would make a wonderful display! |

Victorian Civil War Era Black Silk Quilted Widows Mourning Carriage Bonnet Hood
This antique Victorian Civil War era black silk quilted widows mourning carriage bonnet dates from the 1860s. It is hand stitched, made of a black silk fabric, with quilting and purple silk pleated ruched trim edging. This women's widows mourning bonnet hood would have been worn for travel in a carriage and has a sun bonnet style with a long curtain cape ruffle back drape. It is fully lined in a brown polished cotton fabric. The bonnet measures 19 inches long, with a 16 inch neck and 24 inch circumference around the face. It is in good wearable condition, with only a few tiny moth nip holes along the purple wool trim edging around the face. This is truly a beautiful bonnet and wonderful piece of early Victoriana mourning!
