This pair of vintage ZCMI Salt Lake City Art Deco gold leather lamé floral shoes date from the 1930s. They are made of a colorful floral silk lamé fabric with a silver metallic thread weave and gold metallic leather trim strap accents. These elegant evening dance shoes have a decorative woven crisscrossing strap front peek-a-boo open toes, with adjustable ankle straps, yellow rhinestone buckle closures and lamé fabric covered modified boulevard high heels. They are stamped inside "ZCMI Salt Lake City" in Utah for the Zions Cooperative Mercantile Institution which historians call America's first department store. The shoes measure 10 inches long, 3 inches wide, with 3 1/2 inch high heels. They have been worn and are in as-is condition, with some gold worn off the leather in areas, faint green smudges and there is fraying of the silk fabric along the bottom side foot of one shoe (see close-up). These are a wonderful piece of Art Deco textile art which would be great for display! $100 |
