This pair of antique Middle Eastern mother of pearl inlaid hand carved wooden shoes date from the 1920s. They are made of hand carved wood painted black, inlaid in a mosaic design with mother of pearl. These unique ladies mules slipper shoes sandal bottoms have a platform front lift, high heels and are missing the upper strap across the instep. This style of shoe was worn by women in Egypt, Lebanon and Syria. The shoes measure 9 inches long, 2 1/2 inches wide, with a 2 inch heel. They are in good as found condition, with some wear, small chips to the wood black paint and is missing a piece of MOP inlay, as well as the upper strap across the foot. These are truly a beautiful one of a kind piece of wearable antique Middle Eastern shoe art!
