This pair of antique Victorian era Henry H. Tuttle & Co. Boston label white kid straight sole shoes date from the 1850s. They are hand stitched and made of an off white ivory color kid leather. These ladies slipper shoes have squared toes, straight leather bottom soles with no left or right distinction and a low leather covered French Louis XV high heel. They are lined in linen and still have the original paper label inside from "Henry H. Tuttle Co. Boston". The shoes measure 10 inches long, 2 1/2 inches wide, with a 1 1/2 inch high heel. They have been gently worn and are in good condition. These delicate wedding slippers were probably reserved for indoor wear, evening dress or special occasions. These are a rare and early find! |
