Victorian Brown Brocade Wool & Leather Two Tone High Top Lace-up Boots. Tweet
|
This pair of antique Victorian era brown brocade wool and leather two tone high top lace-up boots date from 1880. They are made of a two tone color combination, with a brown and white polka dot asterisk pattern brocade wool fabric upper boot and brown leather lower shoe and trim. The boots have the original brown shoe laces, pointed toes with a decorative scallop trim design, leather trim strip on the front & back and stacked wooden low cube heels. They are stamped on the bottom leather soles "R.J. & R.S. Co. Progress". The boots measure 7 1/2 inches tall, 10 inches long and 2 1/2 inches wide. These antique boots are difficult to size for today's foot but my guess would be about a size 6 or 7 narrow width. They have been gently worn and are in good condition, with only some minor wear to the leather with faint discoloration. These are truly a rare and beautiful quality made boots! |
