This pair of Edwardian Titanic era vintage Hanan & Son NY black patent leather steel cut buckle shoes and shoe bag date from 1912. They are made of a black patent leather, with decorative steel cut silver beaded buckle trim shoe clips on the front vamps. These elegant evening shoes have a slip on slipper style, with exaggerated pointed toes and leather covered Louis XV French heels. They are lined in leather, with gold embossed lettering and a silk label from "Hanan & Son New York". The shoes measure 10 1/2 inches long, 2 1/2 inches wide, with a 2 inch high heel. They have been gently worn and are in good condition, with only some rust discoloration on the steel cut buckles (see close-up). Included is the original soft flannel shoe bag from "San-Knit-Ary Textile Mills Philadelphia" and a printed history of the shoe company. These are truly wonderful high quality made antique shoes! |
