This pair of vintage Traveler Shoe Art Deco silver lamé brocade Mary Jane button strap shoes date from the 1920s. They are made of a silver metallic lamé damask weave brocade fabric, with a woven floral rose leaf pattern design. These stunning silver evening flapper dance shoes have a Mary Jane style with button strap closure across the instep, rounded toes and silver lamé covered French Louis XV high heels. They are lined in kid leather, with "The Traveler Shoe I. Wit, Maker" gold label inside which was a Boston based shoe company. The shoes measure 9 inches long, 2 1/2 inches wide, with 2 inch high heels. They have been gently worn and are missing one shoe button, the other button is loose no longer attached, with a rusted back shank and both shoes have a small hole where the button goes (see close-ups). These are truly a rare find of wearable Art Deco shoe art! $150 |
