This pair of Edwardian era vintage Sommer & Kaufmann black silk button strap Mary Jane shoes date from 1910. They are made of a black silk satin fabric. These womens Mary Jane style shoes have a button strap closure across the front instep vamps, pointed toes and silk covered French Louis XV spool heels. There is gold embossed lettering on the insoles "Sommer & Kaufmann San Francisco" store label. The shoes measure 10 inches long, 2 1/2 inches wide, with a 2 inch high heel. They are approximately a size 6 or 7 narrow width. The shoes have been worn and are in fair as-is condition, with some frayed separation along the inner sides of the bottom of each shoe which someone had tried to repair with glue (see close-ups). These are truly beautiful quality made shoe which would be great for display! $35 |
