This pair of antique Victorian era brown chenille embroidered steel cut beaded slipper shoes date from 1870. They are made of a brown velvet fabric, with red ombre chenille hand embroidery work and steel cut beading snowflake designs on the front toes. These beautiful brown womens shoes have a slip on slipper style, with a scalloped tongue instep vamp, rounded toes, 1 inch high stacked wooden low French Louis XV heel and are fully lined in a yellow soft cotton batting flannel fabric inside. The shoes measure 9 inches long, 2 1/2 inches wide and are stamped on the bottom leather soles size 3. They are in good condition and have been gently worn, with only some wear to the inside batting lining and a a few missing beads (see close-ups). These are truly a rare, beautiful quality made early Victorian shoe and would make for a wonderful display piece! $200 |
