rare pair of antique Ottoman period Turkish metal embroidery slipper
shoes date from 1918. It is made of exquisitely done hand embroidered
tambour chain stitch crewel needlework done in colored metal threads,
and gold metallic. There is a colorful paisley floral embroidery
decorative design. These stunning slip-on mule slipper style shoes
have an open back, are leather lined, with hard leather bottom soles
stamped size 41, and embroidered low Louis XV heels. The shoes measure
10 inches long, 3 inches wide, with 1 1/2 inch high heels. They
are in excellent clean wearable condition, and have been gently
worn. These are truly a beautiful one of a kind piece of wearable
antique Turkish textile art, and a rare find. $150 |
