This vintage Aubrey Beardsley black and white women Bloomcraft fabric dates from the 1960s. It is made of a cotton canvas fabric with "Original Screen Print" black and white graphics. There are six different Aubrey Beardsley black ink prints representing Art Nouveau women; such as "The Peacock Skirt", c1894, "A Suggested Reform in Ballet Costume", c1895, "The Black Cape", "Salome" and "Isolde" creating the square block images. Aubrey Beardsley was the most controversial artist of the Art Nouveau era and aesthetic movement. This unique art print fabric has a "Copyright Bloomcraft" along the side selvage. It has been sewn together to create a wall hanging tapestry edged in a royal blue felt wool trim border. The fabric panel measures 65 inches long and 32 inches wide. It is in excellent condition and is truly a wonderful piece of textile art.
