This antique Art Deco rhinestone bakelite compact minaudiere purse dates from the roaring 1920s. It is made of a black bakelite, with a white etched Art Deco circular design painted on the front and set with tiny clear crystal rhinestones. There is a black rope knotted strap for carrying on the wrist and a black silk tassel trim hanging down the bottom. This pretty petite minaudiere compact purse has a small compartment inside containing a mirror and puff with rouge insert. The small squared purse measures 2 1/4 by 2 1/4 inches and is in good condition, with only some slight wear, faint scratches and makeup residue. This is truly a rare piece of Art Deco French Flapper art.
