This antique Victorian era black silk mourning parasol dragon carved handle dates from 1870. It is made of a black silk grosgrain ribbed textured fabric, with black silk fine fringe trim sewn around the bottom and top loop ring finial. There is an intricately carved bone handle, with an Asian Oriental motif dragon and bird design and black silk tassel rope wrapped accent. This antique mourning style parasol umbrella has a metal frame mechanism which is in fine working order. The parasol measures 27 inches long and 80 inches in circumference when opened. It is in excellent useable working condition.
