This antique Victorian era green silk silver gold sequin ball gown dance fan dates from the 1860s. It is made of a bright emerald green color silk, with sheer gold mesh decorative trim inserts along the top and backed with a sheer gold metallic fine mesh net fabric. There are a variety of shapes, hand sewn tiny gold and silver sequins decorating the front. There are carved and pierced bone sticks and guards, with gold painted accent designs, silver inlays and a brass loop, mother of pearl rivet attached onto the bottom holding the fan together. This small dainty pretty petite fan might have been used by a lady for a special occasion dance and worn with a fancy ball gown. The fan measures 7 1/2 inches long and 17 inches wide when opened. This fabulous fan is in good condition, with only a few missing silver inlaid disks.
