Antique Chinese Figural Dragon Boat Race Silk Embroidered Square Panel Pair
These antique Chinese figural dragon boat silk embroidered square panel pair date from the late Qing Dynasty during the 19th century. They are hand stitched, made of a white silk background, with colorful pastel tiny needlework done in raised padded satin stitch hand embroidery work. There are matching intricately embroidered figural scenes, with a dragon boat race in the center, surrounded by the Eight Buddhist symbols of good fortune, along with bats and birds. This pretty pair of embroidered silk square panels have a black and white silk braid trim border frame edging and are backed in a fine tissue lining. They would be great framed as a small tapestry wall hanging. Each panel measures 7 1/2 inches long and 5 1/2 inches wide. They are in excellent condition and are truly a wonderful rare piece of antique Chinese textile art!
