This antique Point de Venise lace cutwork linen banquet tablecloth dates from the 1950s. It is made of a natural unbleached flax linen, with raised padded satin stitch embroidery work and decorative drawn cutwork designs. There is a Point de Venise needle lace; heavy firm button hole stitches form a needlepoint guipure lace, with heavy outlining cordonnet and connecting brides done along the inside and outside border edging. This Italian style beautiful banquet size large tablecloth measures 102 inches long and 66 inches wide. This magnificent table covering has wonderful quality workmanship. It is in excellent condition, with only a small faint butter grease stain in the center (see close-up). This is a wonderful piece of antique textile lace art!
