This pair of antique Turkish Ottoman hand knit wool stockings socks date from the late 19th century. They are hand made of an off white cream color hand knit wool, with a colorful woven abstract floral pattern design and gold metallic thread accents. These wonderful winter wool stockings have a decorative knit scalloped top and a folk art inspired style. The socks measure 14 1/2 inches long and 9 inches in circumference. They have some small faint age spotting and a few tiny moth hole nips. These are truly a rare and wonderful piece of wearable antique Turkish Ottoman Empire textile folk art!
